Some personal information
My name is Michael Biermann. I was born in Mönchengladbach on september 1969. In Neuss I visited the elementary school and the grammar school. At this time I got interested in Astronomy and therefore I decided to study physics and mathematics at the Ruhr-Universität in Bochum. After the intermediate examination I changed to Heidelberg. Here I accomplished my diploma thesis at the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut and started studying vertical oscillations of stellar disks. Afterwards I graduated at the Institut für Theoretische Astrophysik in Heidelberg and I was busy studying self-gravitating accretion disks. Subsequent I work free-lance for DIVA. Meanwhile I am a scientific assistant at the Landessternwarte Heidelberg and working for the European astrometry space mission Gaia. More detailed information you will find in my Curriculum Vitae.
During the week I spend most of my time at the

Each time I spend my time in Kaarst (and I try to do so as often as possible) I try to meet my friends from the Schützenzug Junge Treue Brüder.
